  1. Hi With the validating group being removed and it now being a flag to differentiate between validated and non-validated members of the members group, there is no way to select only validated members for bulk mails This is potentially a big problem. Every non-validated address could be false represented or non-existant. With sites like Yahoo already being on a hair trigger to prevent spamming websites it is important that admins can select not to send bulk mails to members who are not validated. Cheers John
  2. Added, as in included in latest release... Or added to the to do list again?
  3. Hey butt munch, about time ya started yapping lol

  4. Seems to be quite common for ipb developers just now. I might be interested in helping to sponsor redevelopment of the hook.
  5. I second this question... Alex?
  6. Hi I am a 3.4 customer, preparing to upgrade to ipb4 and checking the availability of hooks and plugins before I upgrade. As an NB34 customer for "recent topics/posts", do I need to re-purchase the NB40 version? Cheers John
  7. Is this now a dead app?
  8. Thanks Wohali, I will do that just now.
  9. I have an issue with tags on the main forums interacting with the social groups app. i am hoping that this is a known issue and there is a work around. When a member creates a post and they set tags within the standard forums, sometimes those posts become placed within a social group and the path to the board is screwed. If a member isn't a member of the group it is placed within they are unable to reply to the topic. When you look at the breadcrumb it becomes: Board > Path To Original Board > Path To Social Group DIscussion Board To fix, I have to use the full editor, delete the tags in the original topic post and suddenly the breadcrumb is as expected: Board > Path To Original Board and the reply box will reappear Any ideas? We are having to edit a few posts each day. As a secondary issue, is there any way to make the topics/post boards of a private group not be listed in lastest posts? I want to create a staff room using social groups for the addition communications advantages, but new posts show in the latest posts list. True the topic isn't itself viewable, but surely it shouldn't show at all for non group members? Thanks John
  10. I have one group that is set up as a hidden group, but the discussion board associated with teh group is visible to forum members who are not members of the group.. what is the best way to limit access to the group discussion boards to group members only?
  11. Many thanks for your patience. all seems to be working now. :)
  12. No they don't, is just my misunderstanding of how the password is used. I cleared the passwords in the first place as after the upgrade the group members were not being permitted to get access to their groups, when I cleared the passwords they could. Of course now I can't find where the password is set, just to annoy me. Regarding the latest posts, I have just noticed that the latest posts ARE displaying, in groups that were created before the upgrade, but the latest post list shows no activity in the groups that were created after the upgrade.
  13. I will set some new passwords. The social group forum hook is already enabled. The posts do not show on the individual group homepage. As a new feature suggestion, as it doesn't seem to be a feature currently, it would be great if admin could message all group owners and if a forum password is changed, that a message can automatically be sent to affeected group members and / or the group owner.
  14. Specifically the latest posts block that can be added to the Social Groups individual group home page. I have to admit I'm not sure I understand exactly how the forum passwords work for the Social Groups. Do the group forums have to use a password (I think I cleared the ones that were set on upgrade as members complained they couldn't access the groups.). Do the members have to enter the password every time they visit? What is the best way to communicate passwords to the members who need it? Is there an easy way for me (as site admin) to communicate with all group admins/owners? To do it manually when there are a lot of groups could take ages.
  15. Hi I'm not sure where I might be missing something, but the latest group posts feature doesn't seem to be working for me. The forum permissions allow the member groups to see the posts, they can click into the discussion board etc, but the latest posts feature just indicates that there is no new content. Any ideas what could be wrong? Cheers John (PS the latest posts feature IS working for non-group forums)
