    +1 for this

Would save the customer having to type out their billing info etc, and reduce friction and therefore increase sign ups, makes complete sense for an invison community which relies on subscriptions (as no physical product sales) to have this feature! 🙂

I hope invision can add this, if just allowing their gateway to allow Apple & Gogole Pay through stripe (if possible)

    Hello!
Using Stripe we can implement Apple & Google Pay support but it currently does not support automatic renewals to subscriptions. I think having this option is a great addition and would generate extra revenue for any community selling subscriptions.
    Hoping this gets implemented.
    Thank you!

So excited to see what is coming next for Invision. As far as a wishlist one thing for me is just a general thought, but SEO SEO SEO. Any SEO improvements that help our forum threads get indexed would be huge.

Otherwise, one thing I have always wanted are Notification filters. When I see that I have 20 notifications there are times that I don't need to check every Reaction notification. But I definitely want to see all @ notifications so I make sure I respond to them all.

@Matt As you know, a lot of people use mobile devices, and I hope that V5 will bring many conveniences and improvements in terms of forum usability. It seems to me that the majority of users visit the forum from their smartphones rather than from a computer.

You'll be waiting a long time then. There are countless ways to bypass that kind of restriction as long as the user has access to the source code. Trying to stop piracy is a lost cause, you're better off forgetting about it and using that time on making more themes... 🙄

David.. reacted to HeavyWolfPL in Stop adding Mod/Admin IP to user's history
Whenever you modify a user's account in ACP, it is displayed in his/her "Recent Activity" and IP activity. As I often deal with leakers / spammers / alt accounts, checking user IPs is something I do very often. It is annoying, when I see my and other staff's addresses in user activity, whenever I want to check something. What's even more annoying, these IP addresses also appear in the Ban IP Addresses section.
My suggestion is to disable staff addresses from appearing in the user's activity and Ban IP addresses section. I appreciate it shows the actions staff has done on specific user's account, but having them listed the same way as user's "real" IP addresses isn't helpful.

David.. reacted to Daniel F in Strengthening Community Trust with Privacy and PII Data Features
Our June release of Invision Community introduces several new improvements for your community to increase privacy controls and consent of personally identifiable information.
In today's digital age, privacy and the protection of personally identifiable information (PII) have become increasingly important. By incorporating improved privacy and PII data features into Invision Community, we are creating a more secure and inclusive environment within your community. In this blog post, we will take a quick look at what PII is, and the new features Invision Community has to improve privacy within your community.
    What is PII?
PII, or personally identifiable information, refers to any data that can be used to identify, contact, or locate an individual member. When users sign up and visit your community, they may provide various types of PII, either voluntarily or as required by the platform's registration process. For example, an email address is required to complete the registration, and in some cases and IP address may be logged to authenticate a session, or to provide some context to the person posting content.
Invision Community introduced new data control tools in a previous release, so let's take a look at the improvements coming in our June release that improves cookie management, IP address management, PII data requests, and the right to be forgotten.
PII Data Request and Right to be Forgotten
Your members now have the ability to request their Personally Identifiable Information (PII) data directly from their account settings page. Upon submitting a request, administrators will receive a notification alerting them to the new inquiry, where they can choose to either approve or deny it.
If approved, the member will be notified and provided information on how to download their requested data.

Additionally, members now have the option to request account deletion. After submitting this request, they will receive a confirmation email to verify their intent. Once confirmed, the request is forwarded to administrators, who can then decide whether to approve or reject the account deletion.

    IP Address Management
Invision Community has had tools to prune IP addresses within a timeframe for a while, but we have conducted a thorough evaluation of the data framework in Invision Community to ensure that all recorded IP addresses are systematically purged according to the designated timeframe.
    Cookie Management
Empowering members to control which cookies are stored is an important aspect of fostering trust and security within an online community. By granting users the autonomy to manage cookie preferences, you demonstrate a commitment to respecting their privacy and protecting their personal data. This level of transparency not only helps build a strong sense of trust between the community and its members but also helps with compliance, ultimately contributing to a more engaging and responsible user experience.
The Invision Community cookie consent page has been revamped and now displays a list of essential cookies. Visitors have the option to opt out of non-essential cookies for a more customized browsing experience.

Additionally, we've introduced a new feature that allows for the inclusion of an optional third-party Cookie Description on the cookie consent page, further enhancing transparency and user control.

We trust that these enhancements to privacy and data collection practices will simplify compliance with various regulations and, most importantly, ensure that your community members feel secure and well-protected while engaging with your platform.
The features and changes presented here are available in the following packages:
Beginner Creator Creator Pro Team Business Enterprise These features are also available in the Invision Community Classic (self-hosted) product.
If you do not see your product or package listed, please contact us to talk about upgrading your Invision Community.

Yes, but iOS 13 is ~3 years old so we shouldn't abandon it so soon.

I've taken a look at this issue, and it's caused by new javascript code in Invision Community taking full advantage of the ES (2020) syntax, specifically the chaining operator, like so:
ips.getSetting?.('baseURL')?.replace This is only supported from iOS 13.4 onwards (https://caniuse.com/?search=optional chaining operator)
We can remove the chaining operator from this line of code which will fix the issue, but moving forwards we are more likely to use it again - especially for Invision Community v5.

Yes, everything works fine on my other devices. Seems to be an issue with the older iOS versions?
I'm able to reproduce this issue on ipsfocus.net too even after clearing all website data in Safari settings.

David.. got a reaction from BankFodder in How to stop new members posting to other profiles?
This can be done with a theme edit if you find the profile posting code then wrap it around
{{if member.member_posts > 50}} so that only members with higher than 50 posts can see it.

David.. reacted to KT Walrus in Upgrade to CKEditor 5
CKEditor 4 is EOL by the end of 2023, it seems.
Invision should be prepared to deprecate CKEditor 4 sometime in 2023.
Since CKEditor 5 is very different than CKEditor 4, I think Invision should release a beta of CKEditor 5 in an upcoming release with CKEditor 4 being the default editor. An ACP setting should be available if a site wants to switch to the beta CKEditor 5 early. This forum could switch to CKEditor 5 as soon as possible to help get any integration problems addressed early.

Cloudflare R2 is a storage method like Amazon S3 and both are Api Compatible.
R2 is a lot cheaper than S3, there are the prices:

Would it be viable for IPS to add support for it?
It would be a really upgrade for IPS self hosting clients, since in R2 bandwidth is free, we only pay for storage and operations.
