  1. The minimum you can set is 3 mo's for notifications.. I agree in that it would be far better to set a limit such as 50 notifications, rather than X number of months.
  2. Thank you!! Really looking forward to the performance improvements to help reduce my CPU load.. IPB loads noticeably much faster on 3.3!
  3. Great addition!! This is certainly needed to help drive more traffic to our forums from our members :)
  4. That's great news, TY! Looks like I would still save going with the hosted option through IPS. Do I get FTP access if I need to upload images, make adjustments to the robots.txt file ,etc.? Thanks..
  5. With regards to the number of online users, I expect that includes members + guests or just members? If it's members, then I'm below 10 at any given time.., if members+guests then around 50-70..
  6. 1xCPU 1.98 GHZ RAM 1344 MB Disk Space 59 GB Bandwidth 1050 GB
  7. Makes sense..TY for the feedback!
  8. My only other concern...saw this in the client area: What would the average downtime be for the migration effort? If it's 1-2 days I think I may need to stay on the VPS plan...
  9. Currently I have a VPS plan with Hostgator and I'm paying $90/mo. I've had to upgrade a few times due to the high CPU usage. I honestly only have around 5-10 members online at once.., the most being around 15. If you include guests/bots, I would say no more than 80 online at any given time. Based on your plans, the Standard at $20/mo would certainly suffice and save me quite a bit of $$. I have not edited any of the IP.Board files on my server so am I simply spending too much money? The benefit in having my own VPS is that I can easily create new e-mail accounts, custom DNS, more control, etc.? If your standard hosting package includes the licenses as well, then why am I on a VPS? Question for others, who else is hosted by IPS? How's the performance/uptime? Lastly, would we have FTP access to upload applications, images, etc.? My absolute main concern is performance and up-time... Thanks
  10. You're the best, TY!!
  11. I second this.. It appears many of my members are frustrated with trying to change their avatars.. I checked the server and the new image does appear correct when I download it, however CloudFlare likely cached the image which is why they don't see it right away.. I agree with the above logic, if users have the ability to change their avatar pics, then appending the avatar by 1 will definitely resolve the issue... Hope this will be considered.
  12. Great idea! I would suggest letting them have the option to introduce themselves'.. I know you can send a PM, e-mail, etc, but an option to allow them the ability to post a new topic which would appear in the introduction forum would be great.
  13. Less work for the board admin to worry about ;)
  14. I would highly suggest ACP manage the robots.txt file for any IPB install. I've been checking Webmaster Tools on a daily basis trying to make all these adjustments to my robots.txt file in hopes of reducing a majority of the Crawl Errors. Since doing so, I've noticed my traffic start to climb, yet I'm still in the thousands as far as HTTP Errors. If anyone has a pretty solid robots.txt file, please share yours here. Here's my current robots.txt file: User-agent: * Crawl-delay: 10 Sitemap: /sitemap.xml Disallow: /admin/ Disallow: /cache/ Disallow: /converge_local/ Disallow: /hooks/ Disallow: /ips_kernel/ Disallow: /retail/ Disallow: /public/style_captcha/ Disallow: /index.php?&unlockUserAgent=1 Disallow: /index.php?app=core&module=task Disallow: /index.php?app=core&module=usercp&tab=forums&area=forumsubs Disallow: /index.php?app=core&module=usercp&tab=forums&area=watch&watch=topic Disallow: /index.php?app=forums&module=extras&section=forward Disallow: /index.php?app=members&module=messaging Disallow: /index.php?app=members&module=chat Disallow: /index.php?app=members&module=search Disallow: /index.php?app=members&module=search&do=active Disallow: /index.php?app=members&section=friends Disallow: /index.php?app=core&module=reports Disallow: /index.php?app=core&module=global&section=login&do=deleteCookies Disallow: /index.php?app=core&module=global&section=reputation Disallow: /index.php?app=blog&module=actions&section=report Disallow: /index.php?app=forums&module=extras&section=rating Disallow: /index.php?app=forums&module=forums&section=markasread Disallow: /*app=core&module=usercp Disallow: /*app=core&module=usercp Disallow: /*app=members&module=messaging Disallow: /*&p= Disallow: /*&pid= Disallow: /*&hl= Disallow: /*&start= Disallow: /*view__getnewpost$ Disallow: /*view__getlastpost$ Disallow: /*view__old$ Disallow: /*view__new$ Disallow: /*view__getfirst$ Disallow: /*view__getprevious$ Disallow: /*view__getnext$ Disallow: /*view__getlast$ Disallow: /*&view=getnewpost$ Disallow: /*&view=getlastpost$ Disallow: /*&view=old$ Disallow: /*&view=new$ Disallow: /*&view=getfirst$ Disallow: /*&view=getprevious$ Disallow: /*&view=getnext$ Disallow: /*&view=getlast$ Disallow: /*?s= Disallow: /*&s=
  15. Can't wait to upgrade and see how the bots react to the changes.. Should help reduce bounce rates if we educate the spiders with better information. Great work!
