  1. Hi Guys, Just wondering if there is any update or news from IPB on this feature request? Wordpress have several themes which allow integration. Just need to know as I may have to move my sites to a Wordpress platform if there is nothing on the immediate horizon. Kind regards, Stuart
  2. Thanks for the reply. That's great news! Any idea of a rough time frame? 3 months? 1 year? 2 years? Kind regards, Stuart
  3. Hi folks, Has anyone ever thought about or considered developing a feature that allows the import of an affiliate feed from say Amazon, Clickbank, Affiliate Window, Commission Junction etc. into a forum where an individual post containing product info, photo, price, etc. is created for each product. This would allow us to build interactive online affiliate powered stores in our forums. Kind regards, Stuart
  4. Hi Marcher, I have sent several PMs in recent weeks requesting support for my installation of IPS Connect on DiscoverWestCork.com. I am very disappointed not to have heard back from you. I have now been forced to disable the product as it was making my site unusable. Can you please either revert to me or refund me my 6 monthly service renewal fee and i'll write of my original purchase as a failed trust in your product. Kind regards, Stuart
  5. Sorted! Thanks again Ryan, Kind regards, Stuart
  6. The problem seems to be the installation of 4.0.8. I am fairly sure that I have correctly FTP's up the new files but it is not kickstarting the upgrade in the ACP for some reason leaving me with 4.0 with no way of entering a Thumbshot API. Anyone have any suggestions as to what I may have done wrong? I dropped the Uploads, Public and Admin folders from the Upload folder into the corresponding folders on the site. However, when I log into the ACP there is no sign of any available upgrade and the version on the site is still showing as 4.0. Kind regards, Stuart
  7. Cheers Ryan, I downloaded the latest version of Links today (4.0????????) and installed via FTP but did not see an Upgrade Links option in the ACP afterwards. The Setting for Thumbshots API is missing from my settings menu. Is there a link for a more up to date download? I guess that the upgrade did not go through. Thanks for the reply which is much appreciated. Any suggestions on what else might be wrong would be appreciated folks. Kind regards, Stuart
  8. Hi Folks, Where or how do I enter the Thumbshots API Key on my IPB site ACP? Kind regards, Stuart
  9. Hi, I'll second that. Could you prevent the disappearance of: Favicon Meta_image Meta description The last two effect how posts from the forums on facebook appear. When you have several licensed sites (Hint!!) it can be a pain to have to manually FTP all of the icons again after each auto upgrade! Kind regards, Stuart
  10. Hi Wolfie, Fair comment. As I said, it may also be the different nuances in American and Hiberno English! Thanks for the suggestion on feedback. I would hope (but it is for others to judge) that I have always shown politeness and respect, even when frustrated. Thanks also for the offer of assistance which is also appreciated. In any event, there has been a happy ending. Michael B has been like an IPB White Knight. Not only did he re upgrade all 5 sites but he also performed a quick clean up which I had no right to even ask for. All of my sites are now patched with new FTP etc and my hosting company will do a final clean up scan tomorrow. I'll then get Google to white list us again. Thanks again to all involved and a special thanks to Charles for his personal involvement and of course to Michael B who restored my faith in the usual very high standard of IPB Customer care. Kind regards, Stuart
  11. Charles, Thank you for the reply which is much appreciated. I note that an hour after posting here, that all of my sites have now been upgraded. A week to me is a 5 day working week. This is Sunday the first day of this week so it may be a cultural symantics thing between Europe and the US. The earliest issues may be marked as resolved but they are not as Powerboat.ie is still down since the upgrade. The "service" that I have received in recent days is a million miles away from the service I had come to respect from IPB. I could , for example mention the multiple times that I had to reply to the same question of one of your staff assuring them that I accepted the waiver. I have a feeling that the delays and poor response may have been down to a single staff member who was dealing with all of my tickets.. I was also unaware of the current difficulties that IPB are experiencing with the ongoing DDOS attack on IPB. Had I been aware of this, I would have understood the pressure that your staff may be under this week and accepted this as a valid reason for a drop in your normal high standards. I have been unable to log into these forums in recent days because of your DDOS issues. The staff member who addressed my upgrade requests in the last hour completely lived up to your usual high standards with a very friendly and helpful response even going beyond the call of duty to tidy up malware from the old files. Your staff will know me as one of their more positive and friendlier customers in recent years. That's why I was so gobsmacked when the staff member originally dealing with my upgrades basically suggested that I could either use the upgrade tool or wait for a considerable time. The response suggested that IPB couldn't be bothered with folks like me who were too lazy or incompetent to use the updater. Please have a quick look at the correspondence in my case to confirm this. I did try to use your updater, but I received an error message saying that I had the wrong FTP details. This was incorrect as these are the same details that I submitted to your own staff. I appreciate that you took the time to reply to me. I am a huge fan of your company. Like yourself, I have an extremely busy professional life outside of all this. I wouldn't be going to this much trouble in my feedback if I didn't care about your company. 3 of my 5 sites are now back online after the upgrade. Powerboat.ie and Powerboat.org are down since upgrade but I'll resubmit tickets. Thanks again Charles for the personal response which is appreciated. Hopefully, you will come through your current difficulties in coming days. Kind regards, Stuart
  12. Ok, I've tried using the upgrader but get the following error message. The URL we have on file for this license (http://powerboat.org) does not match the FTP details provided. Check that the correct FTP path is given to match the URL. If your URL has changed, or you require assistance, please contact technical support. The URL is correct for the licence and the FTP details are also correct. I have logged it with technical support but support requests are now taking a week to be addressed. Stuart
  13. Cheers, That would explain it. This site is still under a DDOS type attack. Just a suggestion, Maybe IPB should send out an email to their customers to explain that: we are currently experiencing difficulties form DDOS attack. These are the effects This is what we are doing about it We will update you tomorrow, Monday etc... I know that it may be embarrassing for IPB, but by keeping us informed, it will bring their customers with them and keep us all informed of their current difficulties. An informed customer is a more understanding customer. It might also be a (an understandable? ) reason why customer service seems to have taken a nose dive in recent weeks? Kind regards, Stuart
  14. Hi folks, For the last day or so I have found it almost impossible to access these forums. Yesterday, I couldn't get onto the forums at all. This morning it is very hit or miss with the forums crashing every few minutes with the following empty browser message. "The connection was reset The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading. The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments. If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection. If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web." I'm using Firefox and I'm based in Ireland Is it just me? Kind regards, Stuart
