Loading a page with a cron job to pull a cache

I have some feed pages with 9 rss feeds per page. But loading is an issue if no one has visited the page in a little while as the new widget caches are pulled. So I am wondering how best to go about using a cron job to load urls for me every 5 minutes or so. Therefore making sure no one gets slow loading as the cron will pull the new cache.

I came up with this but I need someone who knows what they are doing to help.

wget -r -l 3 -O - http://url >/dev/null 2>&1

^^ will this work?
