Renaming ACP directory : how ?

Recommended Posts

Open the ACP and type Security in the search - click 'Security' and then you get to the steps that show the procedure (but only if you haven't already done them) Here's the rub though:

1) Rename the admin folder, then enable the seconday username/password = lovely jubbly as it knows what the admin folder is called.

2) Enable the secondary username/password. then rename the admin folder = no lovely jubbly as there are no instructions on what to do if you have enabled secondary username/password.

The only problem here? It's that the rename admin folder instructions don't give any advice on what to do if you have already enabled secondary username/password.

How do you see the instructions again if you've already made the changes? Reverse the changes:

1) Delete .htaccess and .htpasswd will reverse the secondary username/password change.

2) Remove the entry from constants.php and rename the admin folder back to admin will reverse that change.

And then you can see the instructions when you search for them
