Accept BTC with Stripe Payment Gateway

Hello,

Something many of my users requested was being able to purchase things on my marketplace with BTC and stripe already allows the accepting of BTC but currently it is unsupported with Invision Power Boards Payment gateway for stripe. I think this would be a great addition to the Market place allowing BTC to be processed as-well as something that provides more options for store owners to allow multiple processing methods. With BTC on the rise and crypto currencies being used more and more this would definitely help IPB become more updated with the future moving forward.

Thanks,

Josh

I agree as well. It would be more beneficial to use Stripe instead of the methods already on the MP, as the MP solution requires an account to accept the coins, then another on a different site to convert from crypto to fiat to then get into a bank account of sorts. way too much work to get a solution. when Stripe does all the work in one package, accepting of the coin and converting it then deposit to bank account.

I would love to see further development/update on the built in provider.

I agree with this. Full documentation is here: https://stripe.com/docs/bitcoin

yup looks like they've made it easier too. https://stripe.com/docs/bitcoin It makes mention that there shouldnt be any serverside changes, but it seems like its a skinned form that IPS is sending since it only asks for card information.

---
I don't recall seeing the bitcoin button in the payments menu. Activated it to live, but no change on Commerce side though.

Correct, IPS is using their own skin to pipe the API. If they didn't it'd be much easier for future Stripe updates/implementations.
