Mark Posted August 17, 2010 Share Posted August 17, 2010 The license key will be of no use to anyone if it is already activated :)All it essentially is is a common identifier to our hosted services like the spam monitoring service and IP.Chat. Unless accessed from the licensed URL it can't do anything, and if you try to use a license key that is already active, it'll just say "That key has already been activated". They actually moved my forum to another server and took the domain name. I got everything back but it was difficult. I think on something like this you can't be too careful. The "administrator" would have to have the same URL in the IPS Client Area WITH an IP.Board license to associate with. It's useless to anyone else but yourself. Actually, your URL is set from IP.Board only now. Basically when you enter your License Key in your ACP, it reports back to IPS what your Board URL is and it shows in your Client Area. In all honesty, that is the dumbest idea IPS has ever come up with. I would much rather like to set the URL MySelf!!! Like it was before they changed all this crap to "Automatic". It's retarded to be honest...
