Great hook mine is working as it should i can see the ads in my search and now all groups can use the search feature...thx for great hook :thumbsup:

P.s I think the "multiple search" still giving problems because when you need to search again it's lagging and just showing loading till i refresh the page and yes i update to the new one you posted..bless

My Adsense shows when in the Google control panel but not on my site. Did it take a while for your ads to show up?

EDIT: Using iFrame if that makes a difference

I've just uninstalled the hook, not sure whether our users are even keen on the whole drop-down search idea to be honest, thinking now of just implementing the google search as a replacement to the invision search :)

If you upgraded from a previous version, did you remember to clear your browser cache? The old JS file may still be used by your browser.

In google chrome, the search engine selector combobox is broken after i install. But firefox/opera/ie shows it successfully.

That's weird. It was developed using Safari, and Safari and Google Chrome share the same back-end - Webkit.
You've tried to delete the browser cache and all that?

Yes i cleared the cache. However, when i type something and press enter, the search seems normal on search page.

edit: I think it's only broken on frontpage.

Have you tried it with Safari? I just downloaded Google Chrome, and this it not an issue on other forums that have this installed.

Safari has no problems. Only chrome. Do you think some javascript on my forum interfering with it?

Uninstalled chrome 6 beta and reinstalled normal final version, and it's fixed now. Thanks for all help.

That would indicate that the Javascript file is not working properly. Most likely it's missing or corrupted. Try to reupload it.

As far as I can see, I'm not allowed to request more than 8 results using the Google API.

My only issue is that Google ad is not showing. the other issue is that I expected to be able to paste google search generated code in the mod so that I would have more control over the look and feel of the pop-up window.

What exactly are you wanting to modify, or add? Doing it this way is not exactly the same as retrieving the results in a "static" page.
I have no control over how, or where, the ads is shown. That is all controlled by Google on their end. If you've associated your AdSense account with CSE, it should be shown just below the search input.

I now have this up and running.

I have it set to the default search.

However one thing I have noticed is if one is in a forum or topic the search menu dropdown changes to say topic or forum, rather than saying 'google site search'.

Quick update - search works fine, but have found that the quick reply box in IE8 is reduced in width and the icons above it are vertical.

So regretfully have had to disable the hook for now.

I believe the IE8 should be fixed now. I could not reproduce the the two issues you reported .Ian, but I found some things in the javascript that IE might not like.

I would like to add this back i but would prefer to provide the user to land on a custom IP.Content page verses the lightbox style - is there any way that is possible?

right now i have the search box in the Ad header and the results targets /google page in IPC
