I'm working on SEO and SERPs issues and I came across duplicate URLs. From what I understand, a specific page should in general not be reachable via multiple URLs. I also learned that using a trailing slash or not is a personal choice and should not have an effect on the ranking. Also, one resource stated, that if a page is reachable (Status Code 200) with and without trailing slash, that this is likely to have no big effect on SERP but it will effect page authority as the link juice is spread over two URLs. I've got a member group that is allowed to hide their own posts, but users are reporting there is no way for them to unhide their posts (they cannot see the hidden posts). Is this a configuration/permissions issue or is this a bug? Ideally, I'd like it so they can hide/unhide their own posts, but not be able to see hidden posts by others. Is this possible?

So I've thought of using IPSs oauth system to authenticate users in an external web app. However in my last attempt to do it I ended up with the web app generating a new access token everytime a user signed in. Is that the behaviour I should expect or is there any way to get around it as it would be annoying to look at 100+ authentications tokens per user of the app. If it helps in getting a more precise answer, then I'm planning on using Laravel with its socialite package.

Let me start by saying I have pretty much no idea what I'm doing ha ha I have a forum (well two forums actually and both have this issue) where I've just checked the database tables in PHPMyadmin to see if they were InnoDB or MyISAM. On both of the forums I've found that the database tables are half and half amazingly. I have a sneaky suspicion it's something I've made a mess of a while back. The site's function with occasional glitches but to a total newbie like me on this subject I'd not know if this was having any impact. Anyway should I leave well alone or should I change all the tables to InnoDB? And will I see any difference in the way the sites are…

Hello, Maybe a dumb question but I'm trying to organize a fairly large forum (5+ million posts). I do not want to archive older topics, since this means they are no longer searchable. Also as mentioned by IPS, its not such a big deal anymore with the advancements made with the forum software and MySQL. I'm mainly doing this because our forum is pretty old and we've only hosted uploads for the last couple years. As such we have a lot of topics with broken images with no solution to fix. The conversation / posts still hold value, so I would rather not delete and do now want to archive as they'd no longer be searchable. So my solution is to create an 'archive' category …

Hey all, I have a forum which is football based. I use Adsense for income. On the site there's the football stuff which google crawls, indexes and is searchable on Google etc Adsense also places adverts on there with no issue I also have another section where the members talk about music, jobs, general news and non football stuff. Google doesn't crawl this, doesn't index it, and it's not searchable or visible to anyone visiting the site who isn't logged in.
